Dear sis/brother;

I wonder to know what attitude can be think as proper, wise, soberly toward other disciples in other churches, which uphold different doctrine with us?

Hope below scenario can help you understand my question:

a. I lived in the country not everyone believe there is a God. And Christinity are not treated as a native or national religion. I found lots mission team in the city I lived, they are foreign gospeller or preacher, some of my friends are in their group, well, then, sometimes we have different way to annotate scriptures and understand God's purpose on our life, it's not about right or wrong, but just different way, but don't know how to feel and how to handle and response...

b. I heard discussion inside our ministry group, when some sister/brothers work with other believers from other church group, they doubt the way how they worship, so the discussion will be, "I don't think that person live a disciples' life, coz he/she said this or did that..."   I don't know how to response, I 'm not sure if my sister or brother were judging... For me, I think we don't know what's God's view towards them, if we only look at the outside, different way or lifestyle or good deeds bad deeds, sounds like label, coz we are all sinners, we are called rightousness not because our good deeds,... But on the contrary, in Jacab said,"that faith without works is dead?" so how to balance??

c. sometimes, I was so inspried by some of my friends in other gathering groups, their sharing about their relationship with God and their convictions are awesome, it also draw me close to God sometimes I think.. But if my sister or brothers doubt or question -- why you have fellowship with other believers, not inside our group, how should I response? feel like I did something wrong? But God use everyone every way around you to help you grow up, doesn't He?  Besides focus and devoted to our fellowship groups, can't make good friend of other "believers"?

d. For my personality, I naturally against the wording or view of point that I think not objective enough, too emphasis on the right, or wrong, wonder what's the Biblical teaching on this?

(let me know if I make myself understood or not and please forgive me of my bad grammar or wrong words if have,'cause I 'm not a English native speaker...correct me and help me become better, thanks!)

Wow, Where to begin?

Steve Staten has a presentaion on "Who's My Brother?"

Here is the link.

http://www.chicagochurch.org/teachers/our-boundaries---bible-study-workshop.html

Check it out and come back here w/ your thoughts, OK?

As far as your grammar goes - Don't worry about it - I can communicate w/ you a lot better than I can w/ some others. I am just happy that we can 'CONNECT' !!!

I downloaded the "Who is my brother" audio set from www.douglasjacoby.com. it was awesome.  It gave me a passion to learn more about our Restoration Movement roots.  It definetly address this issue when Lagard Smith talks about the "5 Levels of Fellowship."  Lagard Smith's book "Who is my brother" might also be a good thing to read since it goes deeper into this issue.

Hey Jessica!

you live in such a country where its not easy to share your faith. I admire that.

About the topic you asked. Mr. John Oakes has short notes about that on his page:

http://www.evidenceforchristianity.org/index.php?option=com_custom_content&task=view&id=4729

I qoute two notes that for me are very practical:

1. What if you are not sure?   Apply the Golden Rule.   Treat people the way you would want to be treated.    Give the benefit of the doubt.   Assume the best until you know the worst.

2. Even Jesus did not come to Judge (John 14:26)   We are not the judges of the world.    We make decisions who we believe is saved, but we preach salvation and we preach Jesus, not judgment.

with love in Christ,
Marks
