Nebraska has not traditionally had a coordinated program during Deaf Awareness Week in late September. This year, however, there will be events all over the state. One event was suggested by my wife, so she was put in charge of organizing it.

Three weeks and several phone calls later, God has blessed us with Hispanic Deaf Day. It is an event to bring awareness to a very underserved population and to bring families together. Boys Town is funding it and many, many folks are helping out.

Still praying for final details to be ironed out. Also praying that the event will really serve families in our city. (Omaha, NE).
