Patience for a Woman of God

Did you ever experience that one day is like a thousand years or the other way around? And after that, what was your reaction? What did you do?

To tell you, im frustrated and grateful for i was placed in that situation. Frustrated in a sense that i chose, myself,to make one day a thousand years and vice versa; grateful for when i chose it God revealed a lot of things to me. Due to this i was humbled for before im too confident that my walk with Him is SUPERB but i was too wrong until i staggered and got almost drowned and through that I started to know the word PATIENCE and being a WOMAN of GOD.

I hate it when i cannot get the things i want in my desired time...in my desired plan...in my desired plot. Why did i feel like that? The answer was i did not consider what is written in 2 Peter 3:8-9   ‘’But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone come to repentance.’’ I relied on my own thought, on my own strength and my own skills. I wanted my standard not God’s criteria. I was deceived by my own definition of words.

For me you are patient if you can wait for the period of time you have set. I defined it so simple because when timer stops my being patient is over for i have conditions. But its not..its complicated...its an action...its a to do thing...patient should be endured...patient should be waited no matter what it takes. It should be possessed forever and its increasing daily. Patience is better than pride (Ecc 7:8b) Love is patient (1 Cor 13:8a) thus patient is love.

As woman of God and as a woman for God we should be patient. We should learn how to wait...how to control emotions..how to love... and of course to be humble since its better than pride. A woman should learn in quietness and full submission (1 Ti 2:11) Two of the best description given for a woman of God.

If ever failure comes due to being impatient...its not yet the end...do not let the flow carry you away...instead ask help to God..talk to Him..try to utter syllables after that words...then after words comes a sentence..and when there is abundance of sentence paragraph will be form and it will bring a story...a story telling what exactly happened to you resulting for openness then confession leading to repentance.

Pray with sincerity. Ask with genuineness. Thank God for all situations. Involve self to your brothers and sisters with love. Encourage one another. Never give up for it takes time for everything. Control emotions. Entrust all aspects to God. If PATIENCE is there what a wonderful world it will be.

Thank you sister for this topic. I have studied this topic on an off over the last five years. I have studied scriptures but find that two weeks before my period, a pattern will form where I will get short with people close to me and people around me. This usually makes me sad because I just feel ugly and disappointed that my actions are not portraying what God desires in me. I have had some successes by taking over the counter medications to combat these emotions and this year, as part of my spiritual goals is to work on it. As a result, I have gone back to a book on Gentle & Quiet Spirit by Virginia Lefler. I love it and along with prayer, I have been growing in my area of patience; I have failed at times but quickly recognize it  by repenting and reconnecting to God. As an older disciple and woman, I truely believe I need to overcome this sin. Thank you again for this topic and for specifically how to pray to God when I am falling short through dialogue, recognizing it takes time... I like that. God bless. YSIC, Buki
