To All My People In The Struggle!

I was talking to another brother the other day, and we were discussing Hebrews 11. What is amazing about this chapter is their undeniable faith, but is that truly the crux of the passage...umm...lets see!

This incredible chapter defines faith in versus 1 as follows:

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

It says in Hebrews 11:39-40

These (men) were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

However, it is very interesting, these faithful individuals in the bible never got to see what they were promised, but they refused to look back.

You need to read Hebrews 11 to understand the concept, but the people were rewarded these things, because of their faith that God would bring them to pass. And yet it says in versus 39, they never received the promise!

But the point is, they never looked back. This was not even an option for them to look back, because to them, they had already closed the door to go back to the original place were they started. This would be defeating the purpose.

In the same way, this is how satan accuses us. He makes us think God will never forgive us for whatever sin we committed. The sure way to be free from the torment of it: is to shut the door, so it is not even an option anymore.

Which this is an interesting question, What sin in your life are you keeping as an option?

Hi Vanillachocolate,

the sin in me is not considering myself worthy to be God's daughter.  It's held me back intensely.  Faith I can change - is a struggle.

Thanks bro!

Almost the same in me: to beleive that some things can change is a big struggle. As well as to trust God not that He CAN change that but that He's WILLING to do it.

I've been studying letter to Phillippians and I'm sorry that I don't have the determination Paul had - to consider all his gains and all his experiences before as a loss.
