Hello there (all [if any] who read this INCREDIBLE blog),

It's ALEX from ENGLAND (BOOYAH) here and I was just blogging out there to find out if there are any other composers/songwriters/musicians like myself out there. I think that this DTspace system thingy is probably a really good way of getting each other to hear the mooooosical talents of others worldwide in the church. I put a couple of ideas I was working on up on my profile, and would love to hear anyone else's so let me know if you have any.

I'm very interested in collaborating with anyone, whether we can record parts of songs and send them to one another via rough Garageband mixes at first or whatever, or whether we can actually jam in person. I think it would be very cool to really introduce contemporary (a not necessarily cheesy), interesting music that worships God in whatever way to this community and to the rest of the world. I personally enjoy and try and play about in all genres of music (especially electronica/jazz/alternative rock/classical), so whatever you do let me know.

BOOYAH

Alex. :)

Hi Alex!

I am glad to see you here in DT Space. This year we have released 2 (two) Christian album. I have posted 3 songs from that album on my profile on DT Space. One more album for Christmas will be launched on early November 2008. Our singer and composer, Pierre Jacobs (see his profile on DT Space) now staying in Arlington but we are working together long distance Indonesia-US. Because we believe that we can still work together via hi-tech.

Hi Pierre!

Alex, Hi - I do songwriting, play piano, bass, guitar, and sing.  I have a ton of music, but fewer lyrics.  I use Cakewalk for recording (sorry nothing posted yet) but am not much of a producer.  I use it basically just to get the core of a song down.   I have two school aged kids, a wife, a full time job (amen) serve as the music ministry leader here in Connecticut, and am a Deacon - so, I don't get a lot of extra time to work on the music, but I would love to see my songs get into the hands of someone who can really sing them.  My voice is mediocre, and unfortunately, I write vocals for someone with a greater range than I have.

I will let you know when I post a couple of my songs and rough ideas.  Some are contemporary Christian (I too deplore cheesiness, but perhaps cheese in the ear of the beholder Smile -ewww )  some are songs just of searching and inspiration.  Anyway, I hope this thread will flourish and we will get some great collaborations going...

Greetings Alex!

Brother man! You song "Misses You" is awesome! You are truly talented!

I've been reading Steve Kinnard's book "Getting the most from the Bible" in my Quiet Times, and I was learning today about the "Lost art of meditation" - just sitting and contemplating the greatness of God, His Word, His Son, grace, the mission.. just to connect with the Father and His call for my life!

Music helps me to reach to a higher, deeper place in my heart - and while browsing your forum, I decided to listen to the music on your profile - and I couldn't leave the page!

You really helped my heart soar towards the throne of the Almighty - thank you for the passion that went into composing this piece - i definately (with your permission) would love to add this to my personal meditation music collection!

keep doing God's work, and stay close to Him.

In christ,

RB
