I was so excited to hear the news today when they were covering the hurricane. During Hurricane Katrina, some of my family members' houses were damaged (in Gulfport, MS), and one of my hometowns (New Orleans) was completely destroyed. So when this storm was approaching and it was said to reach over a 3 or 4, I got a bit worried, and started to pray. I prayed specifically that it would deminish, and then that the damage would be minimal. And I was so in awe of God when I heard the report and the damge was SMALL!! I mean, of course there has been damage, yet it was not nearly the same as Katrina by a long shot. Only 7 people died on this, and it was all traffic related. And only a few major buildings in my grandparents hometown were flooded and destroyed (including a casino, which i see that as good!!!). I was just fired up, and when I got the prayer request email, I felt like I just had to share this! Praise God!!
