Hope you are doing well.  I was curious to see how the recession has affected brothers and sisters in other parts of the USA and the world.  Here in Milwaukee, the recession definitely affected a good amount of people, including myself.  How have you coped with job loss?  Have you found anything new yet?  If so, what has helped you?  What has helped you to be positve and faithful when times are tough?  Here in Milwaukee, WI, we have had a Job Club for a little over a year now- first we were able to meet in person, now it is strictly online because too many peoples' schedules didn't work together well.  I have been sending weekly e-mails with job search tips, inpirational scripture or quotes.  Others I have sent the e-mails to have given their input or asked for prayer.  Do you have anything similar in your area?  Sorry- a lot of questions, but I just wanted to hear about others' experiences- not to mention pray for anyone who needs it.  Thanks..  -Kelly 

Our domestic violence education program's funding source has shrunk, and as a result, our program has shrunk as well, but we're still here. Thanks to God.  I know a few brothers who have been out of work for a long, long time. :-(. Thank you for your support. If you send any tips to me, I shall forward them to the brothers who are unemployed.

Thanks for sharing.  There are people out of work a long time around here as well, unfortunately.  I do try to help where I can, though of course there's only so much I can do, which can be frustrating, but it's in God's hands. Volunteering can help to close unemployment gaps, hopefully making it easier to find work.  Also, there are some good websites out there that can help people unemployed and/or seeking career change advice:  one is jobhuntersbible.com (online version of the book What Color is Your Parachute? by Richard Bolles.  Another one is careerealism.com.  Hopefully this helps.
