I am just so excited about a message we had this week at our bible talk... We
actually watched a video called Bad Boys and the God who loves them.
The msg drew on the story of Hosea, Jacob, and Abraham to show how God
through the weakness of these men He revealed His character.
*Through Hosea* He reveals how He loves those who are wounded by the
world, he does not just select them but He loves them intimately and
faithfully. He asked Hosea to go marry an adulterous woman, to show how he
loves and accepts those women who are even rejected by the world.
The *Story of Abraham *shows how God waits till we can't do it by ourselves
or we see and accept that we can't do it on our own, then He comes and He
dazzles our minds...then all we can do is stand in awe of His mighty power
The *story of Jacob*, shows how God is patient, He chose the trickster and
waited on him to one day realise that he needed HIM... Jacob' response shows
how we often call ourselves and live according to what people say we
are...but as children of God we are more than what people say we are. We are
what God says we are...
*Basically:* God uses the ugly, tramps, sexually vile, the weak, the less
knowledgeable to advance His kingdom... He not only uses them He loves them
(like shown in Hosea). He cuddles them, binds up their wounds and
receives them as His... so nothing can stop us from seeking Him... It is not
the well that God came for, it is those who are abused by the world, those
who have given up on themselves that God wants...
He is a Good God...
Encouragement: do not define yourself by any mistake you have ever made because God sees you as the woman He has created not the mistake. take courage as the three men of God have... Moreover look with compassion at those who still live their lives entrapped by sin, love them so that through us God can reveal himself to them.
Amen
