Good morning brethren,

This was on my heart and I wanted to share it with you.

Do you ever feel that GOD disappointed you?

Maybe things aren’t happening the way you think they should.

Maybe you feel like “GOD, I am doing what you want, I have been faithful, why don’t I (fill in the blank)”?

I think sometimes, we fail to realize that GOD doesn’t owe us. We are not in a partnership, so to speak.

Sometimes, we are big and GOD is small.  What is this mindset really?

Pride and arrogance.  (Proverbs 8:13 To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.)

Do we really think somehow that all the good we do, or all the things we “sacrifice” somehow grant us “rights”?

Perhaps this comes from the misunderstanding of Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This was written for the Israelite people, not us. The only application it might have for Christians is Heaven.

GOD didn’t save us because we are awesome. We will never be awesome. Only GOD is Awesome.

He died for us because we are(still) so jacked up. We had to be “Clothed with Christ”.

Galatians 3:27-28 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Let’s look at some passages:

Romans: 9:20-21 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' “Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

Romans 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

Luke 3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Romans 3:12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire."

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

Therefore,

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Micah 6:8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
