"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Rom 10:14-15
This coming January, the Athens Church of Christ will be planting the campus ministry in Clemson, South Carolina. This is such an exciting and amazing time. God is about to do such great things and I am so excited and convicted at the same time. I know for me, sometimes it can be really easy to get caught up in other things and not think about the mission like i should. But Jarrod Robinson and his wife Stacey are leading up the team and he preached two Sundays ago and something he said that I thought was so profound was that without the mission a church is not complete; it's not the same. Ok imagine Georgia football, it's a big game day and everyone is pumped up and excited. After tailgating everyone goes to Sanford Stadium ready for the game to start. In the seats everyone is waiting for the bulldogs to come and kill it with great enthusiasm with dog chants all around. The announcers are doing their thing, getting the crowd of thousands of people revved up and as soon as the banner breaks, a no-named middle school team from who knows where runs out!!! OH THE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!! WHAT KINDA! I mean they're probably great and people would have fun watching them, but it wouldn't be the same. That's what the church is without the mission. Please everyone let's be praying for the Clemson planting; it's about to be on and popping in the S.C. Pray that God's work will be done up. I love you amazing Body of Christ.
