Hi,

I am a father of 4 and my oldest daughter (17) has been rebellious and ungrateful for years despite all we have tried to do including counseling. (Needless to say, I am a firm believer in freewill and how stubborn we can be towards God after all this.) As such I am asking for prayers for my family and for her as follows:

  • I grow in my openness about my sins and struggles and inspire my family with my own repentance and spiritual growth.
  • I learn how to discern my family's needs better and meet them.
  • God grant my wife and I a closer spiritual relationship and enable us to grow closer to him.
  • My daughter be allowed to live long enough to repent. (Considering the accident rate for 16-25 yr olds we feel this is a serious need and not something to be taken for granted.)
  • My daughter see the darker side of life without having to participate in it (Say a social workers job or the like or whatever God deems appropriate.) and comes to her senses.
  • My daughter repent of her lying, disrespect and rebellion and decide to seek reconcilement with God and us.

Thanks for whatever prayers are offered up as I know that the prayers of righteous people are powerful and effective.  Jesus is Lord! Your brother in Christ,

Dave Joutras

Hi Dave,

This must be a difficult time for your family.  I will keep you all in my prayers.  Stay faithful and keep rejoicing.

Awesome God, Holy Father before you we present the lives of your faithful followers David Joutras and his wife. They, Father as each of us' have come to recognize that they cannot raise their children by their own strengths and wisdoms, but that in fact they need Your divine power and truth to be at hand. Settle upon their daughter's heart the knowledge of the truth so that it is in fact unavoidable and that she must make all of her decisions with an informed heart. May the trials that she has faced and the sin that she has partaken in be the driving force for her repentance and motivation to seek and save the lost. God we know that each person must be involved with the world at some point in life in order for them to come to grips that the only hope for life we have is Jesus Christ. I ask that the time is now for David Joutras' daughter to see her only hope and turn to Him. May the hearts of david and his wife be opened to accepting their daughter and loving her, but not accepting the sin in her life. Let love, peace, and patience mark the characters of your faithful and wisdom to the events that are transpiring. Open doors for others to be reached by these situations and for Your name O' God to be glorified. You are our master and in our freedom we have chosen to follow You, may this be the same for her. You have promised us Father that this calling is for us and our family and all who are far off that You may call. Call out to her, penetrate the darkness of her life and bring her before Your amazing light. We love You. Thank You that we can turn to You in troubled times and that our prayers are heard. Amen
