10/28/2008 12:13pm We are just finding out that Angela Turiano had to be rushed to the hospital because of complications in her pregnancy. Her baby girl will likely need to be delivered early (approx. 28-30 weeks). Please pray for Alden, Angela, and their baby girl!
10/28/2008 5:35pm Alden and Angela Turiano wish to thank the congregation for their heartfelt prayers and support during this intensely emotional time. Leah, their daughter, is doing well but is only at 26 weeks gestation. Doctors anticipate that she is between 1-2 pounds at this time. Each hour that she remains in the womb is critical, as it allows the steroid injections to rapidly increase her lung development. Alden and Angela ask for short-term and longer-term prayers for Leah. In the short term they ask that we pray that Leah remains in the womb until Thursday evening, allowing the full effect of two steroid injections, each given 24 hours apart. Most women in Angela's condition deliver their child within this 24-72 hour period following the breakage of their amniotic fluid. Some, however, have gone for weeks (even months) before delivery. This is their request for longer-term prayers.
Regardless, Angela will be hospitalized until Leah is delivered. Both Alden and Angela are in incredible spirits, however tired, and demonstrate God's peace and faithfulness in so many ways.
Several are going to fast and pray for Angela and Leah tomorrow. We invite you to join us in this petition for Leah.
11/2/2008 1:00pm Angela Turiano had to have emergency c-section and their baby was born today. Her name is Amelia (they are calling her Lia). She weighed 1 lb. 14 oz. at birth.
Please pray for her continued health, growth & development, as she will be in the hospital for a long time. Please also pray for Alden and Angela as they persevere in this tenuous time.
11/04/08 12:51pm Thank you so much for your prayers for Alden, Angela, and their baby Amelia who was born at nearly 27 weeks on November 2nd. It is wonderful news that Lia is breathing on her own!
Please continue to pray for her growth & development and for these very important specific issues: Lia is currently on medication to close a hole in her heart; Angela and the baby both have an infection that they are being treated for.
It is possible that Angela will be released from the hospital in the next day or two. As you can imagine, Alden and Angela are exhausted and have a long road ahead as they will be making daily trips to the hospital for the next few months or so while Lia is still hospitalized. Thank you once again for your prayers and support!
