-->The Skywalker Ministry is a group of people in the Austin ICOC that are dedicated to emotional and spiritual recovery and restoration. The reason our group exists is because many of us have bean hurt and bruised emotionally and spirtually. We needed a place to come inorder to be heard, helped, and healed from our past -in order to feel and know that we are truly free and forgiven. The world is living in an illusion of control. As disciples, we are not left unaffected. It's God's job to dispel the illusion. It's our job to admit our powerlessness when he does. The basis of this group is to use the Bible and the 12-steps of emotional and spiritual recovery to help each other to be free from our set backs, hang ups, and hurts. Through using our own stories from our daily lives and sharing words of encouragement with one another openly, we can free our hearts and minds to the possibilities: that a loving, forgiving God wants us to give up control and let him take over; that we can tell ourselves the truth; that we can make amends to ourselves and others for past wrongs; and that we can enjoy our lives one day at a time with the help of the God who sees us as we are. The goal of this group is to find freedom, peace, security, and contetment with God, with ourselves, and with others. Feel free to share your conversion stories and recovery stories as candidly as you want. I will share with you what I've learned and what I'm still learning from my recovery journey as well. If you feel really alone out there, please know that there's hope. You're never alone and God longs to show you compassion.
