Hello:

My hope is that we as parents of Special Needs Children will be able to encourage and help one another through this group.   We recently started a Special Needs support group at Church and it has been a real Blessing.   I'm a Single Mom of two girls.  My Youngest I Adopted through Foster care and she suffers from Emotional Problems and has been labled everything from Bipolar, Oppositional Defiant and as having an Attachment Disorder.  She does have ADHD and because of her negative experiences with her Birth Family and first Foster Family she has difficulty accepting Love and Praise.  She acts out at school daily as she prefers the negative attention over positive attention.   It's challenging at times, but I know God put her with me for a reason and she does bring me great Joy.  She loves to help people and she is extremely bright.   I just found out last week that her IQ is in the gifted range.
