1 Corinthians 1:18 (New American Standard Bible)
“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
What does the Word mean to you? How do you read it? What is it saying to you?
Just as the Word is made up of letters - God’s letters to us - letters make up words! The purpose of this group is to take a verse or word from the bible and break it down - letter by letter, if you will - explaining it, in an effort to enrich, challenge or change our understanding.
Psalms 119:34 (New Living Translation)
Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.
And no, I am not a bible scholar and don’t pretend to be. However, I do believe that God can inspire even the least of us.
This is how it works: one of the group members will chime in with their word or scripture and talk about it for a bit. The other group members will then comment on this word or scripture until some decides to close out the topic.
So please chime in and let me know what you are thinking.
Thank you,
